Applying photoshop skill you can create your own pattern (or use an existing one) and apply it to an image as a fill to the layer. The pattern can be scaled, also the opacity and blending modes can be changed to make it look like the pattern as natural part of the image.
In this example, we’re going to change the texture of the women’s suit using an existing pattern. You can download the image absolutely free from our image galleries. Note: we use the latest Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 for screen grabs and others service, but the method is the same for older versions of Photoshop.
Pattern grading and inserting pattern is the process of creating a range of sizes for a single style.
This is not something that the most people will need to do; but if you’re a dressmaker and want to create a bridal wear patter, or want to design a small line of clothing, you should understand what grading is about.
Sewing patterns created by women are basically designed to fit a specific size (usually on 8 or 10). That is sample size and the fitting is perfect on that sample.
Once the fittings are approved of any size, the pattern is “graded” for a full length of sizes (normally size 4 to 18, for Misses sizes).
The “grade rules” refer to the amount of change in sizes, for every measuring point. The bust, waist and hip grade 1″ between sizes for most of the Misses size range for example.
Pattern changing is needed to visualize the different clothing. It is one branch of photo manipulation.
If you started with size 8 dresses and needed to make another one in a size 10, you’d make the bust, waist and hip 1″ larger. Generally you would do this by making alteration at the side layer and distribute to the 1″ size difference evenly at each layer.
